About Us
We commenced in the dog world in the Obedience Circuit gaining Obedience Champion, CDX's and many awards. We then moved on to Trails work gaining UDX's and WDX before embarking on the show ring.
First and foremost our dogs are not just show dogs, but valued members of our family. We strive to breed German Shepherds of a high anatomical standard that are also sound in body and mind.
Our first litter was born in January 1980. Since then we have had many litters and introduced new stock into the kennel from other breeders.
One of our best purchases is Maxim Mollie who has won many 1st placings, In show awards and went on to win the Gold medal at the 2006 and the 2008 New Zealand German Shepherd Dog Nationals. ( to this day she is the only German Shepherd to have achieved this honour). She has produced many successful puppies for us, with Abbaron Melody ( Millie) winning a Bronze Medal at the 2010 New Zealand German Shepherd Dog National.
Dax Von Danswan has been a further successful addition to the Abbaron Team, not just as the Gold Medal Dog at the 2013 New Zealand German Shepherd Dog National, but also as an established Stud Dog.
Abbaron German Shepherds have been awarded the Bronze Medal by the German Shepherd Council of Australia for our animals passing their Hip and Elbow Dyspepsia Scheme (A and Z stamp). We now use the NZVA for all our animals X-rays.
